Winifred Winnie Callahan OConnor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on April 4th, 2022.
She was born September 26th, 1934, to John and Edith Callahan. She played the role of big sister to Regina Shank, Patricia McIntyre, and the late John Callahan up until her last day.
After graduating from John W. Hallahan (Class of 52) Winnie went on to marry her sweetheart, James OConnor on June 5th, 1954. Together they had 4 children, Jim (Kathleen), Jerry (Denise), Maureen Schindle (David), and Sharon McIntyre (Joe Kilian).
Winnie was a devoted worker at Strawbridge & Clothier as a Bridal Consultant, where she met her lifelong friend Marsha Floyd.
Winnie loved spending time with her nine grandchildren, Jimmy, Jerry, Bridget, Katie, Christopher, Bryan, Colleen, Matthew, and Carly and her 5 great grandchildren, Ava, Liam, Martin, Elsie, and Connor. When Winnie wasnt running laps around her family, she would spend her time with her beloved husband Oakie vacationing in Florida for the last 25 years or at their beach house in North Wildwood, NJ for the last 52.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday evening April 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm and Friday morning April 8th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in St. Jeromes Church located at 8100 Colfax Street, Philadelphia PA 19136. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday morning 11am and her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers your donations to
