William Witman

William M. “Billy” Witman, passed away peacefully, surrounded by a room full of love, at Pottstown Memorial Hospital on November 4, 2025.

Billy was a big kid at heart and larger than life—the kind of guy whose towering presence could meet you on any level and charm you with lighthearted laughter and jokes, and that unforgettable “hillbilly” laugh of his that everyone in town knew and loved. If you were lucky enough to meet Billy you had a story to tell...truly the life of every gathering and room his workboots walked into.

Known as “Wild Bill” in the civil construction world, he was a fearless heavy-equipment operator doing the kind of work others were too chicken or sane to do, whose name and love of Coors Light preceeded him.

With hands like bear paws and a heart twice as big, Billy was a hard worker, loyal friend, and strong-fisted protector of his family. In his younger years, Billy and his brothers had a knack for finding trouble, like the 'Dukes of Hazzard' they were known as the 'Witman Boys' of E. Norriton, and it wasn’t a party until all three Witmans were there—Billy, Butch, and Brian. The outlaws of their generation.

Billy is survived by his loving daughter, Ashley Witman, his granddaughter, Despina, along with his brother Brian and three little sisters Brijin, Mandi and Ryann. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Jenkins, father, David Witman, and his brother Butch.

Billy’s family will be celebrating his life in the coming weeks, with details to be shared soon regarding the date, time, and location.
