With profound sadness, the family of Rocco Young, age 31, of Philadelphia, announces his sudden passing on Sunday, November 16, 2025, following a courageous battle with mental illness.

Born in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, in 1994 to the late David and Elizabeth (née Gallner) Young, Rocco was raised in the Wildwood school district and later worked for many years with The Home Depot, where he was known for his dependable work ethic and easygoing nature.

Rocco cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed playing football with his brothers, cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and gathering for barbecues and game nights—moments where his laughter and presence meant everything.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents George and Clara Young; maternal grandparents Kelly and Betty Gallner; his parents David and Elizabeth Young; and his aunts Carol (Chris Voss), Minnie Dowe, Margaret, Theresa, and Janet Young.

Rocco leaves behind those he loved most: his fiancée Angelica Reidy, his stepson Douglass Reidy Jr., and his son Rocco Jax Young. He is also survived by his uncles Albert, Donald, George (Patricia), and Benjamin Young; his aunts Robin Gallner, Kathy Harpster, Kelly Mead, Jackie Gallner, April Griffin, and Donna Gallner; and his siblings Brian Howard, Derrik Gallner, David Jr., Michael, Kelly, Kyle, and Brittany Young.

Rocco leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends—loved ones who were truly like family to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays, with details to be announced once arrangements are finalized.
