Robert Maggiani, born on April 11, 1959, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 15, 2024.
Being the fourth of seven children, Robert is predeceased by his mother Lavina “Lee”, his father, Daniel, brothers Martin (Karen) and Mauro. He is survived by four brothers and sisters, Daniel Maggiani (Colleen), Michael, Kathleen Galante (late Anthony) and Theresa Zenak (Paul), aunts Helen O’Brien (late Frank), Anne Morrell (late Robert), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was an amazing athlete as a teenager. He also loved singing and dancing to the oldies and at family celebrations, was always seen on the dance floor. His high school years were highlighted by the Frankford High School soccer team All Public win in 1976. That win was followed by a full college scholarship to Philadelphia School of Textiles (now Philadelphia University).
He worked for the Philadelphia gas company in his younger years, followed by a career of painting and contracting. Robby took an active role in caring for his father, Dan, during his battle with cancer and did all that he could to make sure he enjoyed his final years. We take comfort in knowing that Robby will be reunited with his mom, dad, brothers, and all that have passed before us in heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with Robert’s family on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 10AM to 11AM in Saint Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, followed by a funeral Mass at 11AM. His burial will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made payable to the McKeown Foundation, P.O. Box 291, Dresher, PA 19025 would be appreciated by his family.
