Marie Golden

Marie Golden, of North Wildwood, NJ passed peacefully on August 16th after a 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 59. Marie was the beloved wife of James Michael Golden for 39 years. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Francis Moretti and Mary Moretti (Devenney). Marie was a resident of Philadelphia for 50 plus years before moving to North Wildwood, NJ. While in high school Marie started a job with Super Fresh (A&P) and found her passion and career. After 30 years, she moved on to an accomplished 14 year tenure as a front end supervisor with Brown's Family Shop Rite. In her spare time, she enjoyed the beach with her family, traveling the world, visiting museums, stargazing, and watching the sunrise. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and a giving heart. Marie will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her. She is survived by her husband James (Hog) Golden, her brother Michael (Kathleen) Moretti and their son Nicholas, and her children; Damien (Allison) Golden, Moira (Shawn) Murphy, Bridget, Terry (Amanda) Golden. She is also survived by her 5 loving grandchildren Patrick Murphy, Colin Murphy, Liam Golden, Delaney Golden, and Maryn Mae Murphy. To celebrate her life friends and family are invited to gather Tuesday evening August 21st from 6 PM to 8 PM at the McCafferty-Sweeney Funeral Home 6126 Torresdale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19135 and Wednesday morning August 22nd from 10 AM to 11 AM in St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
