Lauretta Mae Tinney (née Callen), aged 89, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was the beloved wife of John E. Tinney, Sr., with whom she shared 66 beautiful years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Lauretta was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Callen and Mary Elizabeth Brennan Callen. She was raised in the Kensington area of the city. It was during her time working at Keystone Franklin that she met her future husband, John. Once married, the couple lived in Philadelphia where they started their family, later relocating to the Hatboro-Horsham area in the mid-1960s. Lauretta will always be remembered for the tremendous pride, love, and care she took in raising her three children. Her family is her legacy.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her devoted children: John Tinney, Jr. (and his partner, DeVere), Nancy Christie (and her husband, Steve), and Joseph Tinney (and his wife, Susan). She was the proud grandmother of Jillian Tamburino (and her husband, Alex), Brittany Cooper (and her husband, John), Alex Tinney (and his partner, Brianna), Naomi Tinney, Ann Tinney, Gregory Stott (and his wife, Jamie), and Bryan Stott (and his fiancé, Jacquelyn). She is also survived by her six cherished great-grandchildren: Avery Tamburino, Ashton Tamburino, Madison Stott, Emma Stott, Carter Stott, and Iris Stott; and her brother, Thomas “Butch” Callen. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Brennan McAloon. She was also beloved by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her services on Monday, June 8, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, located at 321 Witmer Rd, Horsham, PA 19044. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM, followed immediately by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lauretta’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @stjude.org
