James E. Mattock

James E. Mattock was born on August 13, 1940 and passed away suddenly on January 22, 2022 at the age of 81. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his life long partner Dolores Mallon, his children Kimberly Kitchen and Jim Mattock, his son in law Jim, his daughter in law Sharon, grandchildren Jimmy (Alyssa), Kerri (Riley), Matt, Raymond, Chace (Alex), and Jake, great grandson Ashton, his sister Shirley and his nieces Renee and Erica.

Jimmy was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and pleasure to be around. When asked for directions, he always gave the corner bars as the turning point. He had just returned from Florida to be closer to his family. He always loved to entertain his family by playing guitar he was self taught and learned to play by ear only~never formally and could play ANYTHING at all. He would sing and tell numerous stories and jokes and even if we heard them a million times before we still laughed each time like we never heard them before because of the way he told them. Throughout the years he had lived in Margate and was a beloved bartended at Maynard's and Christie's for many years and surely knew just about everyone in the tristate area.

An Irish Wake and celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Wednesday February 2nd from 3 PM to 5 PM at The Greater Wildwood Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896, located at 109 W. 1st Avenue, North Wildwood. Please join the Mattock family as they tell stories, smile, laugh, cry, and raise their glass to a true Irish gentleman.
