With heavy hearts, we honor the life and legacy of James Charles “Boots” Ritter, a strong, loyal, hardworking man who lived with grit, pride, and love. A true provider, he led with toughness, unwavering devotion, and a Marine’s spirit — always moving forward, always doing whatever it took for those he loved.
“Boots,” or Dad as we proudly called him, Unforgettable Christmas mornings, childhoods filled with memories, and lifelong lessons built on discipline, dedication, loyalty, and strength. Hard work was his pride, but his heart was full — and everything he did, he did the best way he knew how.
He proudly served his country, protected his community, and worked tirelessly throughout his life. We are forever grateful and forever proud to call him our father.
Boots is survived by his loving children:
• Charles Ritter & his wife Anna, and their children Christian, Casey, Brendan, and Chelsea
• Justin James Ritter, and his son Gabriel
• Laurie Anne Ritter and her daughter Aylesia Juliette Sanchez
He is also survived by his siblings and loved ones:

He is reunited in Heaven with those who went before him:
His daughter Wendy Anne Ritter, sister Judy Ritter (Caputo), brothers William and Gary Ritter, (Pickle) Marcia -Minnie Ritter , and his parents William Ritter and Alice Shields Ritter
Dad, we will carry your stories, your stubborn strength, your humor, and your Sinatra spirit forever. Toughness and heart can live inside the same man — and you proved it every day.
You lived life your way — and we admire you for it.
Rest peacefully in Heaven, Dad.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
“The big lesson in life, baby, is never be scared of anyone or anything.” — Frank Sinatra
