Glenn Gremmel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Gremmel on September 13, 2025.

He was the beloved father of Tara L. Gontek (née Gremmel) and her husband Bryan, Glenn Jr. and Laura Gremmel. Cherished brother-in-law of Donna Gremmel (née Rakes). Loving uncle of Renae Gadomski (née Gremmel) and her husband Joe, and their daughters Lacie and Sophie; and of Robert William Gremmel III, his wife Robin, and their children Riley and Bobby IV.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Gremmel and Joan D. Gremmel (née Carr), as well as his brother, Robert William Gremmel, Jr.

A devoted father, uncle, and friend, Glenn spent his career as a proud Union Glazier with Locals 252, 1183, and 1099, before pursuing his passion as a small business owner, focusing on glass artistry and energy efficiency.

Glenn’s happiest moments were spent outdoors—whether camping, fishing, or enjoying the water. Sundays were his time to cook something delicious for family and friends, all while cheering on his beloved Eagles.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, humor, and love of life.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Glenn’s life on Saturday, September 27th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at McCafferty Sweeney Slabinski Barnes Funerals and Cremations, 2614 Orthodox Street, Philadelphia. Words of Remembrance will begin at 12:00 Noon.
