Schaaf, Genevieve (Jennie) passed away at 2:31am, peacefully at Nazareth Hospital on May/4/2016. She lost her three year battle with cancer. She went to be with the lord at the age of 89yrs old. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday May-14-2016 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church (5560 Harbison Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124 (215) 831-1224). A meet and greet will be from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. with Mass immediately after. Followed by the burial at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery (1215 Super Hwy, Langhorne, PA 19047 (215) 752-3244). A luncheon will be served at the Ashburner Inn (8400 Torresdale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA) immediately after.

Jennie was born on February-22- 1927. She was raised by her aunt and sister Josephine. She married Frank Schaaf on March/29/1947 in Dayton Ohio. They then moved back to Philadelphia, where together they had two boys, Frank Schaaf, Jr. and Ronald Schaaf. She is survived by her son Frank, her three grandchildren, Stacey, Alicia, and Cortney, two daughters-in-law Rosemarie and Debbie, and the entire Hornberger family and McKeown family.

Jennie was always full of life. There was never a dull moment and even though she is gone we will always have these little stories with her. Everyone she met loved her. She made you feel so welcome and loved. She had this spice for life. She always had these funny comments like, you fresh kid, or you monkey, or the way she pronounced things with funny accents like pierogis and indigestion always a sure way to make us laugh. Like my mom said "she could make going to Rite Aid fun". If music was playing you better believe that she was up there dancing swinging those hips. Her interest included spending time with her grandchildren making memories, shopping and having lunch with her friends, and she always looked forward to her seniors and their trips and Thursday night bingo. She also enjoyed watching Everybody Loves Raymond every night and her game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She liked shopping in her catalogs which I believe that's where I get my love for shopping (her). If her game shows weren't on she would be watching her westerns and old western shows like Bonanza, Daniel Boone, Little House and the Walton's. She was a huge John Wayne fan.

Jennie was adored by her friends and family and anyone she meets. We will miss you so much Grammy. Every day is so hard with you gone but we are thinking positive and we know that you are not suffering anymore and that god will keep you safe up in heaven. We know you are smiling watching over us with Grandpa and dad. We love you and will forever miss you. We will be carrying you in our hearts forever. MORE.
