The Weiler family wishes to announce the passing of our father Frederick "Butchie" Weiler on December 13, 2020. Butch is survived by his wife Ruth, children, Fred (Janine), Ken, John (Teri), Steven (Paula), Amy, his grandchildren, Brittany (Steve), Matthew (Kristin), Patrick (Megan), Katlynne (Ryan), Jennifer, Riley, Maeve, Brody, great grandchildren, Easton, Hudson, Flynn, Madison and Everly, and siblings Robert Weiler (the late Annette), Ann Birchler (Ed), Joan Helfrich (the late John), brother in law Charles Nelms and sister in law Ann Weiler. Butch was born on November 12, 1931 and grew up as a competitive and talented athlete in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia and was a proud 1949 North Catholic Falcon graduate. Butch spent some 30+ years working in different branches of the federal government including the Naval Depot in Philadelphia and the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier at the Fox Chase branch. Butch also served proudly in the United States Army and was a Korean war veteran as a Gunner and tank driver who was promoted to sergeant and given his own tank to command. Another big part of his life was golf and he always loved enjoying a round of golf at the Sandy Run Country Club where he was a member for over 40 years. He is now joined again with his siblings Marilyn, Nancy and Jack. We will all miss him dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Butchie's life on Wednesday February 3rd from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the FOP Lodge #5, 11630 Caroline Road, Phila., PA 19154. Fr.
