Frances Tiernan

Francis Tiernan (nee Fox) passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 surrounded by her devoted family. Franny was the beloved wife of over 31 years to Joseph Tiernan and the loving mother of Joey Tiernan and Danny Tiernan. Loving daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Fox, dear sister of Anne Selzle (Charles), Andrew Fox, Mary Fox, Joseph Fox, Patrick Fox (Karin), James Fox and the late John Fox; sister-in-law of Charles Tiernan (Mary) and Mike Tiernan (Gayle).

Franny was a well-loved and dedicated employee of Univest Bank, where her kindness and hard work left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers alike. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, whether relaxing at the mountains, enjoying the shore, or making magical memories at her favorite vacation spot, Disney World.

Always up for a shopping trip, Franny had a great eye for style and carried it with grace. She found joy in tending her garden, hosting holidays, and welcoming loved ones onto her deck for countless laughs and conversations.

Franny’s love extended to her entire family, and she will be remembered with deep affection by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who were all blessed by her warmth and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Saturday morning, August 23, 2025, from 9-10:45 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114. Funeral Service begins at 11 A.M. Luncheon will follow at the FOP Lodge 5.
