Elfrieda H. Davis passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1944 to Herman and Frieda Troast in Doyelstown, PA. She was the second of two children. Elfrieda graduated from Olney High School, Class of 1962. She went to school to become a hairdresser and later on in life she became an entrepreneur, opening a bar called “The End Zone Tavern”. Elfrieda went on to own a catering business and finally retired from Giant in Roslyn, PA.
Elfrieda married her first husband, Albert James Mayer and he passed away in April of 1975. She went on to marry her second husband, Joseph Francis David, who was affectionately known as “Uncle Joe” on June 11, 1977.
Beloved sister of the late Martha Katherine Mayer. They were life long friends, speaking once a day and visiting each other once a week. Elfrieda and Martha spent their first 10 years of life together on a farm in Doylestown. They would continue to visit the farm to spend time with their family and raising chickens.
Elfrieda will be remembered as a loving caring Aunt who always had time for her nephews. She spent many hours baby sitting, having sleep overs and taking trips to the beach. She was also a good friend. She also spent many hours at the Roslyn VFW Post helping with those who have served their country. Elfrieda helped drive Santa Claus around all night on Christmas Eve to visit children in the area. She was deeply loved and will be missed.
Beloved aunt of Albert and Teresa Mayer, Albert Jr., Dylan, Wyatt and Caroline; Kenneth Mayer and Allison, Emma and Shane and the late James Stephen Mayer and his son Kenneth.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 10am at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 7965 Fillmore St. Phila., PA 19111. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Interment will be held precisely at 1pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
