Anthony Maurice Love

Anthony Maurice Love Sr., was born September 12, 1959 to Rosa M. and Anderson N. Love Sr, the third of four boys, two of which preceded him in death. Tony, as he was affectionately called, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 after a brief illness.Tony was raised in Philadelphia with his siblings where he learned the benefit of family. The Love household always had family, extended family, and family extensions around all the time. If you wanted to be alone, that wasn't the place to go. His love for sport and fitness led him to pursue martial arts at a young age, where he earned his second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do Karate. He attended M.L. King Jr. and Germantown High Schools and always had a love for remote control cars, classic cars, Christian movies and music.Tony was a God-fearing man. Being called into ministry in his adulthood, he would find himself passing the Word of God on to whomever he would meet; that is what he dedicated his life to. He was also handy, working in the maintenance field for over 40 years. Even after his retirement he would find things to fix or build.To cherish his memory, Tony leaves his parents, Anderson and Rosa Love, his children Tyesha (Reginald), Candice (Kevin), Anthony (Amanda), Michael (Katie), and Samarra; brother Anderson. He will be missed by numerous family members and friends. His two other brothers, Ira and Rodney as well as his sister Teresa preceded him in death. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday January 14th from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at McCafferty Sweeney Slabinski Barnes Funerals and Cremations 6126 Torresdale Avenue. Funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will be held privately.
